The concept for PlantVit was born around the same time as I had my first child. As a mostly-plant-based eater, I was keen to raise my daughter on a similarly plant based diet for all of the benefits it gives. I started reading books and speaking to professionals to understand what supplementation might be required to make sure she had everything she needed to grow up healthy and strong.

While a plant based diet is superior in so many ways to a standard diet, the clear lacking elements were DHA, Iodine, B12 and Vitamin D (click here to learn more). I consulted a dietician to get the quantities right, but was then shocked to find there was no liquid supplement on the market that had the right quantities for a baby. As I searched for solutions, I found that this problem would continue throughout her childhood. There were plenty of plant based vitamins, but no genuinely comprehensive vitamins designed FOR plant based people - let alone kids. Every day I compiled a vitamin concoction from 4 separate droppers and moaned about how ridiculous it was that this problem even existed.

Rather than continue to complain about it, I decided it was time to solve the problem.

The PlantVit mission was clear - if I wouldn't give it to my own child, it wasn't good enough. This meant:

All ingredients must be the purest, most bioavailable options in the market
No rubbish allowed (colours, flavours, preservatives, fillers, etc)
Ruthlessly science-backed - leading experts in the plant based nutrition field (dieticians, medical doctors) must be consulted and sign off on the formulations
Taste and smell good - disguising the vitamins so that kids and adults alike would actually want to take them every day (without using any 'nasties' to do it)

We've now applied that same mission to vitamins for all ages - for your kids, for you, and for your parents. The problem is officially solved.
